Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Power Plant Technician for a Vereeniging facility to maintain and troubleshoot CCGT and related equipment. You will work with gas and steam turbines, support systems, and CMMS records to ensure safe, reliable power delivery.

The role requires 5+ years in power generation, strong mechanical/electrical skills, and willingness to shift work and be on-call as needed. Training on OEM equipment is available.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or relevant Trade Certificate in Engineering.
• 5+ years in a power generation plant environment, with CCGT or large gas turbines.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on turbines, generators and balance-of-plant equipment.
• Inspect and test to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults promptly.
• Monitor plant operations via DCS and respond to alarms.
• Assist with major overhauls and outages planning and execution.
• Follow safety procedures and CMMS reporting requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records and collaborate with engineers and technicians.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergencies and unscheduled maintenance.
