Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Catering Operations Supervisor for events in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The role focuses on flawless execution of catering services at wine estates, weddings, wine tastings, and corporate functions.

You will lead on-site staff, manage equipment, uphold service standards, and ensure client satisfaction. This hands-on position requires strong leadership, organization, and a proactive approach in a dynamic catering environment.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in catering or hospitality.
• Strong understanding of event operations and F&B service.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of wine service and vineyard event etiquette desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate on-site catering staff during events, ensuring efficient service delivery.
• Manage the setup and breakdown of catering areas according to event specifications and client requirements.
• Ensure all catering equipment is clean, functional, and correctly utilized.
• Oversee food and beverage service, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
• Liaise with clients and event planners on-site to address any needs or resolve issues promptly.
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and hygiene protocols during event operations.
• Manage inventory of supplies for events, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Train and mentor junior catering staff, providing guidance and support.
• Conduct pre-event briefings with the catering team to ensure clear understanding of roles and responsibilities.
• Contribute to post-event evaluations to identify successes and areas for improvement in Stellenbosch operations.
