Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies invites applications for an experienced Cashier at our Willowbridge store in Cape Town. You will support customer service at the point of sale, record transactions, and follow Dis-Chem policies to prevent fraud and ensure accuracy.

You will handle cash and card payments, assist customers with promotions, and maintain secure till operations while upholding high service standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• At least 6 months of cashier/till experience.
• Computer literate with MS Office experience.
• Strong numerical and cash-handling skills.
• Excellent command of English and customer service basics.
• Willing to work retail hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures.
• Establish a professional relationship with customers.
• Report customer complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management.
• Transact all purchases and process payments (cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons).
• Process all loyalty cards for partner programs (Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, etc.).
• Ensure cash is kept secure and within the till; follow SOPs for drop safes.
• Maintain accuracy of the till and handle daily takings confidentially.
