Job summary

Pick n Pay in South Africa is seeking a friendly cashier to process transactions at the checkout, balance the till, and ensure a tidy, welcoming shopping experience.

You will handle payments, upsell products where appropriate, resolve customer issues, and maintain high levels of satisfaction by providing accurate service and observing security procedures.

This role requires Grade 12, basic computer skills and confident English communication, with a focus on accuracy and reliability.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent with basic numeracy and cash handling skills.
• English communication is required; additional languages are a plus.
• Good accuracy and attention to detail for till balancing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage the float.
• Operate the till and scanner quickly and accurately at checkout.
• Receive and process all forms of payment and transactions.
