Job summary

Pick n Pay in Cape Town is seeking a customer-focused cashier to process transactions, handle cash, and balance tills accurately. You will upsell where appropriate, resolve complaints, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while delivering high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include operating the till, receiving payments, preventing wastage, and interacting with customers in a courteous manner. English communication is essential, with Grade 12 as a baseline requirement.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 and be able to communicate in English.
• Computer literacy is advantageous.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English to assist customers.

• Prepare and manage the float.
• Operate the till and scanner correctly and speedily during checkout.
• Receive and process all forms of payment and transactions.
• Prevent wastage, shrinkage and damages.
• Maintain hygiene, housekeeping and safe working standards.
• Adhere to security procedures.
• Operate and clean equipment according to laid down standards.
• Interact with customers and respond to queries courteously.
