Care Manager (Registered Nurse) job vacancy in White River.
Take ownership of care delivery, people management and the day-to-day operations of a care centre in White River.
This hands-on leadership role requires a Registered Nurse with strong management experience, excellent people skills and the ability to work confidently and compassionately with elderly and frail residents.
Salary: R30 000 – R35 000 CTC per month.
Minimum Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with current South African Nursing Council (SANC) registration and annual licence to practise – non-negotiable.
- Minimum 2 years’ management experience within elderly care.
- Proven experience managing nursing and care teams.
- Strong people-management experience, including staff performance, attendance, training and day-to-day leadership.
- Previous experience caring for elderly and frail residents, including dementia care.
- Strong operational, administrative and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word, with confidence using electronic systems and CRM platforms.
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle.
- Able to work flexible hours and be available for standby and after-hours emergencies when required.
- Must currently reside in White River or be willing and able to relocate to White River.
- English communication skills are essential; additional local languages are advantageous.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take overall responsibility for the effective management of resident care, people and daily care-centre operations.
- Oversee holistic, resident-centred care in line with the Registered Nurse scope of practice.
- Develop, maintain and regularly review individual resident care plans and ensure accurate care records.
- Lead and manage nursing and care staff, including rosters, leave, attendance, training, performance management and day-to-day staff matters.
- Maintain care standards while ensuring staff understand and consistently follow required procedures and expectations.
- Ensure medication management, health and safety, infection control, risk management and care procedures are implemented and followed.
- Manage resident and family communication, complaints and care-related concerns, and coordinate doctor or specialist appointments where required.
- Maintain accurate operational, staff and resident records across CRM and supporting systems.
- Oversee care-related stock and ensure services provided to residents are accurately recorded for billing purposes.
- Work closely with local and senior management to ensure the facility runs effectively and consistently.
