Job summary

JG Afrika (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town is seeking a qualified Construction Site Surveyor for a major road upgrading project. The role is full-time and site-based for approximately 18 months, with responsibilities across setting out, control, surveys, and as-built data.

You will work with the Resident Engineer, Contractor and Employer's Representative to ensure accurate construction and conformance with design specs, and you will mentor junior staff where required.

Qualifications

• Registration with SAGC as Professional Engineering Surveyor, Engineering Surveyor (Technologist) or Engineering Survey Technician.
• National Diploma/Advanced Diploma/degree in Engineering Surveying, Geomatics, Surveying or related field.
• Valid South African driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain construction survey control.
• Undertake ground line surveys and construction verification surveys.
• Set out roadworks, drainage and associated infrastructure.
• Prepare verification reports, survey records and as-built information.
• Provide on-site training, mentoring and skills transfer where required.
