Job summary

LexisNexis South Africa Shared Services is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer in Cape Town to bridge software development and IT operations. You will design, automate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, build scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS/Azure, and lead a team of engineers in a hybrid work model.

You will mentor junior engineers, implement robust monitoring and automation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, secure delivery of services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years in DevOps, SRE, or system administration.
• Strong cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with IaC (Terraform/Ansible).
• Proficient in Python or Bash and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for deployments and infra provisioning.
• Develop scalable cloud infra on AWS/Azure; ensure high availability.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting for proactive issues.
• Automate infra tasks with Terraform, Ansible.
• Collaborate with dev teams to optimize performance.
• Lead and mentor DevOps engineers; foster best practices.
