Job summary

LexisNexis Legal & Professional in Cape Town is seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to shape a global CI/CD platform, building secure, scalable pipelines with IaC, automation, and modern DevOps practices.

You will partner with engineering teams to design and implement robust deployment strategies, migrate legacy pipelines, and improve observability and security across cloud environments, enabling consistent software delivery and a superior developer experience.

Qualifications

Hands-on with AWS and infrastructure as code
Strong CI/CD platform design and Jenkins experience
Strong Python skills for tooling and automation
Experience with containerization and deployment practices (Docker, ECR, Kubernetes)
Experience integrating security, quality, and compliance into workflows
Observability improvements using OpenTelemetry or similar
Troubleshooting platform and pipeline incidents across global teams
Experience with GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation
Develop and support Jenkins shared libraries, pipeline templates, and reusable deployment patterns
Support migration of legacy pipelines to standardized CI/CD approaches with documentation and best practices
Integrate security, quality, and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines and improve observability
Build and support Python-based tooling to enhance platform capabilities
Collaborate with application teams to design CI/CD flows
Provide operational support for pipelines and platform components, including incident handling
Mentor team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement
