Job summary

Placements24 in Cape Town is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer to design, implement and manage scalable, secure cloud infrastructure. You will lead a team of cloud engineers, mentor junior staff, and drive cloud best practices across the organization.

Key duties include deploying on AWS, Azure or GCP, creating IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation, enforcing security, DR plans, and building automated pipelines with CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 7+ years in infrastructure engineering with at least 4 years on cloud platforms.
• Proven ability to design highly available, scalable cloud architectures.
• Strong scripting skills (Python/Bash) and IaC tooling expertise.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Implement security, monitoring, and disaster recovery plans.
• Lead a team of cloud engineers and mentor staff.
• Automate deployments and scaling with CI/CD tooling.
• Collaborate with development and operations for seamless integration.
