General Reinsurance's Cape Town Branch is seeking a Life Products Underwriter to service the Canadian market from Cape Town. You will underwrite facultative life and health risks, ensure timely turnarounds, and collaborate with teams across markets in an international environment.

The role reports to Canada and involves strong technical underwriting, client engagement, and contributing to service excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years’ underwriting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in health or related field.
• Strong client relationship management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Canadian facultative life and health risks.
• Ensure timely case turnaround in line with SLAs.
• Provide high-quality service to Canadian clients.
• Collaborate across markets to uphold underwriting standards.
• Engage with Canadian clients and internal stakeholders at senior levels.
• Support actuarial, administrative, and marketing teams.
• Participate in cross-functional and strategic projects.
