Job summary

General Reinsurance Africa Ltd. in Cape Town seeks a Senior Life Underwriter to support Life Australia, UK, SA, Canada divisions.

You will provide technical underwriting advice, assess life products, and distill complex information into clear recommendations. The role requires 8+ years underwriting experience, SA product knowledge in life, disability and critical illness, strong analytical and communication skills, and a collaborative, energetic mindset with good software skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years’ underwriting experience
• SA product knowledge - Life, disability, and critical illness insurance
• Previous education and training experience within the life insurance industry
• Ability to provide underwriting assessments on a range of life insurance products

Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for top applicants who are seasoned underwriters, with a qualification in health or allied health sciences, or a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Applicants should also have significant experience in resolving complex and unique underwriting queries.
