Job Description
The work profile for position includes the assistance in mechanical services engineering designs, leading the detailing, REVIT modeling, preparation of drawings, report writing, technical specifications and the production of bills of quantities deliverable on projects.
This position reports to the Team Lead: MEP Services based in Johannesburg.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the mechanical services design, preparing and managing of mechanical draughting.
- Assist in the performing mechanical engineering services to infrastructure development projects, buildings, refurbishments and alterations including HVAC, wet services, vertical transportation and fire protection services, as required.
- Assist in the preparing of technical reports for the mechanical services design to projects.
- Assist in the preparing of cost estimates for projects.
- Assist in the measuring and preparing of Bills of Quantities for projects.
- Assist in the preparing of design documentation and specifications.
- Complying with the requirements of the Quality Management System.
- Assist in the overseeing and ensuring correct transfer of design to construction drawings.
- Ensuring professionalism and quality of all designs.
- Liaise with other professional team members.
- Coordination of mechanical services installations with other services within projects.
- Attendance at coordination meetings, site meetings and routine site inspections.
- Assisting to develop and communicate project goals and deliverables; assess and evaluate project team work to ensure successful completion of projects.
- Assist in the oversee of project production efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- B-Tech, B degree, BSc Eng (Mechanical Engineering)
- 3-5 years' experience in the built environment
- Registered with ECSA as a candidate Pr. Eng or Pr. Tech Eng
