Job summary

Kendrick Recruitment seeks an experienced Camp Manager to oversee daily hospitality operations of a remote wilderness camp in Limpopo. You will manage staff, guest experience, safety, and administrative tasks in a hands-on role.

Ideal candidates bring hospitality leadership in safari lodges or wilderness camps, strong communication, and the ability to operate calmly under pressure while living on-site at the camp.

Qualifications

  • Previous hospitality experience essential, ideally within a safari lodge, wilderness camp or guest-facing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or junior management experience advantageous.
  • Strong guest relations and hospitality service skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and supervise a small team.
  • Experience coordinating Housekeeping and Kitchen operations advantageous.
  • Good understanding of food service and dietary requirements.
  • Strong administrative and reporting skills.
  • Computer literacy is essential, including email, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a hands-on approach.
  • Calm, responsible and able to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Comfortable managing guest, student and staff welfare within a remote environment.
  • Able to identify and report maintenance and infrastructure requirements.
  • Safety-conscious and confident assisting with incidents and emergency procedures.
  • Professional and well-presented.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with long working days and on-call responsibilities.
  • Genuine passion for remote bush living.

About the Opportunity

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Camp Manager to oversee the daily hospitality operations of a remote, unfenced wilderness camp. This is a hands-on junior management opportunity for a hospitality professional who enjoys bush living and can confidently manage camp operations, staff, guest experience, safety and administration. The successful candidate will ensure that the camp is safe, clean, organised and welcoming while leading a small team of cooks and housekeepers.
