Job summary

Initiate in South Africa is seeking a newly qualified CA(SA) to join as Finance Manager, taking ownership of financial management, reporting, controls and compliance within the fast-paced iGaming and sports betting industry.

You will work closely with senior leadership, managing P&L and cash flow, budgeting, VAT and regulatory reporting, audits, and commercial decision-making across functions.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA(SA) with SAICA registration or eligibility.
• Completed SAICA articles/training contract.
• Newly qualified CA(SA) or up to 2 years post-qualification experience.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and financial reporting skills.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
• Knowledge of SA taxation (VAT, PAYE, income tax).
• Industry experience in iGaming or gambling is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Support management accounts preparation and analysis.
• Oversee reconciliations: banking, suppliers, payments, customer/gaming wallets.
• Monitor cash flow and contribute to short- and medium-term forecasting.
• Assist budgeting and budget vs actual analyses.
• Investigate variances and provide insights to senior management.
• Partner with CEO, Director and leaders on financial and commercial decisions.
• Assess financial impact of promotions and supplier arrangements.
• Maintain financial controls and segregation of duties.
• Oversee supplier payments and ensure proper authorisation.
• Support VAT, PAYE, income tax, gambling taxes and levies.
• Assist with Gaming Board and regulatory financial submissions.
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors and banks.
• Support payroll reviews and finance reconciliations.
