Job summary

Staff Focus is seeking a Senior Buyer to manage day-to-day procurement in a fast-paced retail environment in the Western Cape. You will ensure the right product range and stock levels to meet customer demand while monitoring margins, rate of sale and buying budgets.

The role involves negotiating with suppliers, coordinating promotions, and analysing sales reports to drive growth and profitability. Strong communication and relationship skills are essential for success in this busy team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a Buyer or Senior Buyer role within retail or wholesale industry.
• Strong knowledge of FMCG buying, stock management, margins and supplier negotiations.
• Commercially minded with a strong understanding of sales and customer demand.
• Strong analytical, organisational and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship building abilities.

• Assist with achieving sales, gross profit, stockholding and shrinkage targets.
• Work closely with management and operational teams to improve store performance.
• Maintain a strong understanding of customer needs and local market trends.
• Assist with stock takes, loss control and general store operations when required.
