Job summary

Huntswood Group is recruiting a Business Intelligence Analyst in Umhlanga Rocks, SA to transform data into actionable insights. You will query data, build dashboards in Power BI and Tableau, and design scalable pipelines using SSMS.

The ideal candidate has a BCom or is pursuing one, 2–3 years in BI/BPO, and strong SQL skills with CallMiner experience. Grow with a cloud-enabled BI environment and collaborate across stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Design, develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau.
• Write complex SQL queries to extract and transform data from MS SQL Server and other data sources.
• Build scalable data pipelines and transformations using SSMS.
• Translate business requirements into analytical solutions for stakeholders.
• Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Use CallMiner for Speech Analytics and build Tableau scorecards.

Responsibilities

Job Overview

The Business Intelligence Analyst will transform data into actionable insights that drive strategic and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will be strong in data querying, analytics, and visualization, with hands-on experience using modern cloud data platforms and BI tools.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using PBI & Tableau
• Write complex and optimized SQL queries to extract and transform data from MS SQL server and other data sources
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformations using SSMS
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
• Perform data validation, quality checks, and reconciliation to ensure reporting accuracy
• Analyze trends, patterns, and key drivers to support business performance and strategic initiatives
• Document data models, metrics definitions, and BI solutions to ensure transparency and reuse
• Support ad-hoc analysis and data investigations as required
• Use CallMiner, for Speech Analytics and build scorecards on Tableau

Job Requirements

• Matric /NQF Level 4 equivalent
• BCom degree or studying towards one
• 2-3 years BPO experience in a B.I environment, candidates with no such experience need not apply.
• Strong proficiency in SQL (advanced joins, window functions, performance tuning)
• Hands-on experience building dashboards and reports in PBI & Tableau
• Callminer experience a must
• Solid understanding of data modelling, star schemas, and analytical datasets
• Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills

Interview Process

The selection process will include an initial CV screening against the role requirements. Shortlisted candidates will then participate in an interview with a Talent Specialist, followed by a final interview with the BI Leadership team.

This will focus on a review of experience, behavioural capability, and competency-based questions.
