Understand. Translate. Deliver Business Value.
Are you a curious and structured thinker who can turn business needs into clear requirements, bring stakeholders and developers together, and keep software delivery moving?
At Sigma, we’re looking for a Business Analyst - Software Delivery to bridge the gap between the business and our Software Engineering team. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you’ll help increase delivery capacity and velocity on ServiceOne, making sure we build the right things, in the right order, and deliver real business value with every release.
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with stakeholders and developers, shape solutions from discovery through to release, and embrace AI-assisted analysis, prototyping and agentic software delivery.
You’re a clear communicator and structured problem solver who is comfortable with ambiguity, asks the right questions and turns business needs into requirements developers can build with confidence.
At your core, you’re passionate about connecting people, processes and technology to deliver practical solutions. You examine information carefully, interpret data, explore possibilities and bring ideas to the team. You balance sound decisions with practical approaches, produce accurate work and meet timescales while following procedures. You welcome feedback, embrace change and stay composed as priorities evolve, bringing Sigma’s values—Always Learning, Always Adapting, Always Together and Always Better—into how you work every day.
Success should be measured through stories meeting the Definition of Ready, backlog refinement ahead of each sprint, rework caused by unclear requirements, user acceptance testing pass rates, stakeholder satisfaction and sprint goal delivery. Key outputs will include agreed requirements and scope, user stories and acceptance criteria, current and future-state process maps, specifications for coding agents, user acceptance testing plans and sign-off, workshop outputs and decision logs. Expected activities and outputs will be discussed in your first one-to-one with your line manager and reviewed alongside your commitments and goals, with the Sigma Connected Competency Matrix and Always Improving Performance Framework providing further guidance.
You’ll bring experience working closely with business stakeholders and software development teams to translate needs into deliverable requirements. You can document processes, write user stories and acceptance criteria, clarify scope and priorities, and support developers throughout delivery. Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences is essential.
