Job summary

Our Client in Cape Town is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with fire product experience to join their building services team. A BEng in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of five years of relevant experience are required.

You will design fire protection systems per SANS standards, including firefighting equipment, smoke control, stair pressurization, and sprinklers, with CFD tools considered an advantage.

Qualifications

• BEng (Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent qualification is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical building services.
• Minimum 5 years of fire protection design experience per SANS standards (firefighting, smoke evacuation, stair pressurization, sprinklers).
• Proficiency in fire safety design software is a plus (e.g., CFD modelling).

Duties & Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience:

• BEng (Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the mechanical building services environment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fire protection design as per SANS standards, including firefighting equipment, smoke evacuation, stair pressurization, and fire sprinkler systems.
• Proficiency in fire safety design software is a significant advantage (e.g., CFD modelling software).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
