Job summary

The client, a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Cape Town-based mechanical engineer to develop fire safety and compliance designs for multi-disciplinary construction projects across South Africa.

You will work in a dynamic team to integrate fire protection systems with architectural and structural disciplines, ensuring adherence to SANS and local regulations.

Qualifications

• BTech/BEng in Mechanical Engineering.
• Around 3 years' experience in mechanical building services.
• Experience in firefighting equipment design and SANS standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire safety and compliance designs for projects.
• Apply SANS and fire protection standards.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.

They are established in the electrical, electronic, mechanical and fire consulting engineering fields and specialises in the technical advanced type projects.
The ideal candidate will be Cape Town-based and will be developing fire safety and compliance designs for multi-disciplined construction projects throughout South Africa.

Requirements include:

• BTech/BEng in Mechanical Engineering
• +-3 years working experience in mechanical building service environment
• +- 3-years’ experience in SANS
• Experience in design of firefighting equipment, thermal modelling, smoke evacuation systems, stair pressurization systems and fire sprinkler system.
