SMEC is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer for the Mtentu Bridge project in Port Edward, Eastern Cape. The role focuses on contract administration, reviewing drawings, and coordinating with designers, contractors and clients to ensure quality, safety and timely delivery.

Formación

• B.Sc or B.Tech in Civil Engineering required.
• PR.Eng will be advantageous.
• At least 4 years' experience in road and construction projects.
• Experience with General Conditions of Contract 2015 will be advantageous.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Responsabilidades

• Assist with contract administration for the project.
• Review construction drawings and manage contractor queries with designers.
• Inspect works and test results for quality control.
• Prepare and update estimates to completion.
• Maintain site records and communications per SMEC quality system.
• Attend and contribute to technical and site meetings and take minutes.
• Monitor progress reports, budgets and resources for site supervision.
• Engage with clients and contractors and manage stakeholders.
• Close out projects with completion/closeout reports and environmental monitoring.
