Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Bricklayer for uphen construction projects in Upington and surrounding areas. You will lay bricks, blocks, and stones to construct and repair walls, foundations, and partitions while adhering to plans and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have proven bricklaying experience, strong reading of drawings, and the ability to work efficiently on diverse residential, commercial, and industrial sites within the Northern Cape region.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Bricklayer with a strong portfolio of completed work.
• Skilled in using masonry tools and equipment (trowels, levels, cutting tools).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and masonry specifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mortar and spread, level, and shape mortar mixes according to specifications.
• Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry units in horizontal courses, ensuring proper alignment and bond patterns.
• Cut and shape bricks and blocks to fit around obstacles or to create decorative patterns.
• Install lintels, arches, and other structural elements as required.
• Repair, remove, and replace damaged brickwork or masonry structures.
• Ensure adherence to architectural plans, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Clean finished brickwork, removing excess mortar and ensuring a neat appearance.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Bricklayer to undertake masonry work for various construction projects in and around Upington . You will be responsible for laying bricks, concrete blocks, and other natural or artificial stones to construct or repair walls, partitions, foundations, and other structures. This role demands precision, a good eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently to meet project timelines. You will be a key member of the construction team, contributing high-quality workmanship to residential, commercial, and industrial projects within the Northern Cape region and playing a vital role in the construction industry .
