Job summary

Staff Solutions in South Africa is seeking a skilled workshop professional to read and interpret engineering drawings, perform fabrication and fitting work, and carry out basic welding.

You will operate workshop tools, perform basic CNC operations, measure components to spec, assist with installations and repairs, and maintain a clean, safe workshop while complying with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret technical drawings and specs.
• Fabricate, assemble and fit mechanical components.
• Perform basic welding with appropriate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Perform fabrication, mechanical assembly and fitting work.
• Carry out basic welding and fabrication using appropriate welding equipment.
• Assist with manufacture, modification and repair of mechanical components and structures.
• Operate workshop tools, machinery and equipment safely and correctly.
• Perform basic CNC machine operations under instruction.
• Measure and inspect components to ensure they meet specifications.
• Assist with installations, repairs and maintenance.
• Identify and report mechanical faults and issues.
• Work closely with technicians, engineers and production teams.
• Complete work accurately and within deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment.
• Comply with health and safety procedures.
