Job summary

Recruit-It is seeking a skilled tradesperson in Gqeberha for a hands-on fabrication and mechanical role. The ideal candidate will read engineering drawings, perform assembly, welding, and basic CNC operations under supervision, while ensuring precise measurements and quality.

A reliable team player with a valid driver’s license and safety mindset is essential. The position involves sourcing materials, liaising with suppliers, and maintaining a clean, safe workshop environment to meet deadlines

Qualifications

• Qualification or trade experience in Boilermaking, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in workshop/manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Basic welding skills and fabrication experience.
• Basic knowledge of CNC machinery.
• Good measuring skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Valid driver's license and sober habits.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Perform fabrication and mechanical assembly work.
• Carry out basic welding and fabrication using appropriate welding equipment.
• Assist with manufacture, modification and repair of mechanical components and structures.
• Operate workshop tools safely and correctly.
• Perform basic CNC operations under supervision.
• Measure components to ensure they meet specs.
• Identify and report faults or issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe workspace.
• Source materials from approved suppliers and check quantities.
• Communicate with suppliers about specifications and delivery times.
• Ensure materials are delivered within required timeframes.
