Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer in Bloemfontein to lead and mentor a team of engineers, set technical standards, and drive architectural direction for complex software projects.

You will oversee the full software development lifecycle, collaborate with product management on roadmaps, and promote high-quality coding practices while fostering innovation and technical excellence. This leadership role is based in the heart of the Free State.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or architect role.
• Proven expertise in designing and building large-scale, distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in multiple programming languages and modern software development frameworks.
• Excellent understanding of software architecture patterns, data structures, and algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
• Architect, design, and develop scalable, robust, and maintainable software solutions.
• Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and development methodologies.
• Collaborate with product management to define technical roadmaps and project requirements.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment and maintenance.
