Job summary

Placements24 in Cape Town, Western Cape is seeking an Early Childhood Development Practitioner to join a forward-thinking educational center. The role blends in-center activities with structured remote engagement to support cognitive, social, and emotional development in children aged 3-5.

You will plan, deliver, and assess learning experiences, collaborate with colleagues and parents, and contribute to remote learning strategies while maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• NQF level 4 or 5 ECD qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with young children in education.
• Experience with blended learning and educational technology.
• Knowledge of South Africa’s NCF for ECD is advantageous.
• Based in or willing to commute to Cape Town, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging activities for 3-5 year olds in-center and remotely.
• Observe and document child progress; identify areas for support.
• Foster an inclusive, positive learning environment.
• Communicate with parents about development and wellbeing.
• Collaborate on curriculum enhancements and learning units.
• Maintain learning resources for both in-person and remote components.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and orderly space according to health regs.
• Attend team meetings and training; contribute to remote learning strategies.
