Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a passionate Early Childhood Educator for a reputable preschool in Cape Town. You will work with children aged 2–6, creating engaging lesson plans and building a nurturing, inclusive learning environment on-site with optional remote tasks for curriculum development or parent communication.

You should hold a Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education with at least three years of experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with young children.
• Strong knowledge of early learning frameworks and milestones.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to create engaging learning materials and activities.
• Team player with a collaborative mindset.
• Residence or commuting to Cape Town for on-site duties.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the preschool curriculum.
• Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes development across social, emotional, cognitive, and physical domains.
• Observe and assess progress, document learning journeys and communicate with parents.
• Facilitate age-appropriate activities including arts, music, movement, literacy and numeracy.
• Manage classroom behavior positively and foster a sense of community and respect.
• Collaborate with fellow educators and administrative staff for smooth daily operations.
• Maintain open communication with parents regarding development and well-being.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards in the classroom.
