Job summary

AES Global is seeking a Learning Designer to craft practical, on-the-job training for client service, call centre and back-office teams. The role blends in-person and digital learning, translating real performance gaps into targeted programmes.

You will partner with business teams and subject matter experts to design blended learning using instructional design principles, maintain content as processes evolve, and travel as needed to deliver impactful programmes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education or related field.
• 5+ years designing learning for operational environments - client service, call centres or back-office teams.
• Strong grounding in instructional design, adult learning principles and blended learning approaches.
• Proven work translating business requirements into learning solutions, and extracting organisational knowledge and process detail from stakeholders to build curricula.
• A portfolio of high-quality learning content across in-person, virtual and self-paced digital delivery.
• Hands-on with learning management systems and digital authoring tools.
• Excellent writing, with a talent for making complicated things simple.
• Strong stakeholder and project management - several pieces of work at once, priorities that move.
• Willing and able to travel from time to time.

Responsibilities

• Partner with teams across the business to understand their challenges, find the performance gaps and recommend practical learning solutions.
• Run learning needs analyses and pin down the knowledge, skills and behaviours people actually need to do their jobs well.
• Work with subject matter experts to draw out what they know, spot the process gaps, and turn both into learning that is easy to apply.
• Apply instructional design and adult learning principles to design blended programmes for in-person, virtual and self-paced audiences.
• Build the full kit - facilitator guides, learner guides, e-learning, formative and summative assessments and performance support tools.
• Work with facilitators so the material is easy to deliver and genuinely fit for purpose.
• Keep content accurate and current as processes change, improving it alongside the stakeholders who own the work.
