Job summary

AECOM is seeking a BIM Engineer to model and manage building services in Revit, delivering compliant BIM models and drawings with minimal supervision. You will prepare deliverables to meet client requirements and BIM execution plans, and ensure accuracy before senior review.

You will coordinate across teams using Navisworks, BIM360, and Civil 3D, while supporting the department and maintaining schedules in a hybrid work environment in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Experience with BIM modelling in Revit (MEP and Structures).
• Knowledge of BIM standards and Revit processes.
• Experience with gravity and pressure flow in pipes.
• Proficiency in Dynamo scripting for underground services modelling.
• Minimum 1 year of Revit modelling experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Model and produce drawings in Revit without direct supervision.
• Prepare BIM models and deliverables per Client requirements and BIM Execution Plan.
• Check completeness and accuracy before review by Senior Engineer.
• Support department projects as directed by the Team Leader.
• Coordinate using Navisworks and other tools during delivery phase.
• Manage and coordinate all incoming and outgoing model and drawing information.
• Manage projects in BIM360.
• Organise own work to meet deadlines.
• Keep abreast of latest software/techniques to increase productivity.
• Model below-ground services in Revit (conduits, pipes, chambers).

Job Description

Here is what you will be doing:

• Experience in Autodesk Revit Software (MEP and Structures) and Autodesk Civil 3D to model and produce drawings without direct supervision.
• Prepare BIM models and deliverables to ensure they meet Client requirements and Industry Standards and project BIM Execution Plan.
• Checks the completeness & accuracy of work before review by the Senior Engineer or designated senior team member.
• Support work, related to projects in the department, as directed by the Team Leader.
• Follow coordination strategy and reporting using Navisworks and other coordination software and supports the team through the delivery phase.
• Assist with the management and coordination of all in-coming and out-going model and drawing information.
• Manages projects in BIM360.
• Organizes own work to achieve set deadlines.
• Keeps abreast of the latest software/ techniques to increase productivity.
• Modelling of below ground services in Revit, such as conduits, pipes and chambers.

Teamwork:

• Proactively looks for opportunities to add value to deliverables, tasks and produces high-quality work.
• Support work, related to projects in the department, as directed by the Team Leader

Qualifications

Here is what we are looking for:

• Ability to fulfil all the above duties and responsibilities.
• Technical knowledge and experience of gravity and pressure flow in pipes.
• Dynamo script writing to develop modelling of underground services in Revit.
• Knowledge of Industry BIM standards, MEP Revit and Structures Revit, processes, and general approaches, modelling of underground services in Revit.
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in relevant Revit modelling.
• BIM Qualification / Diploma / advance diploma in civil engineering.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and understand the importance of delivery and client satisfaction.
• Strong analytical, space interpretation, literacy and numerical skills
• Good planning and organizational skills.
