Job summary

AECOM in Durban seeks a seasoned BIM Modeller to work in a hybrid setup. The role focuses on modelling electrical installations in REVIT 3D, coordinating with disciplines, and delivering accurate BIM content for built environment projects.

Candidates should have 5–10 years of BIM experience, strong REVIT proficiency, and the ability to generate quantities and documentation from BIM models. Hybrid work option available with global project exposure.

Qualifications

• 5-10 Years relevant experience as a BIM Modeller in the built environment.
• Must be an intermediate user in other core discipline specific software.
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit and/or similar BIM software.

Responsibilities

• Model Electrical Installations in REVIT 3D across project phases according to standards.
• Prepare and manage schedules, estimates, progress reports, procurement, etc.
• Develop MEP REVIT content including new Family and customization of existing Family content.
• Develop bills of quantities from Revit and perform squad checks of vendor data.

Job Description

Here is what you will be doing:

• Modelling of Electrical Installations in REVIT 3d.
• Preparation and management of schedules, estimates, progress reports, procurement etc.
• Electrical engineering and design during all project phases according to client, national and international standards.
• Detailed Electrical Drafting / Modelling of LV and MVincluding the development and checking of:

• - Load Lists
• - Single Line Diagrams
• - Network Diagrams
• - Electrical Schematic Diagrams
• - Motor start-up and Protection Schemes (MV and LV)
• - Cable Routing Design
• - Lighting Calculations (preferred), modelling and layouts.
• - Earthing Risk Assessments, earthing system design, Earthing layouts.
• - Specification of Construction Standards of installation.

• Developing MEP REVIT Content including new Family and customisation of existing Family content.
• Utilise vendor data and work with other disciplines as required for engineering and design.
• Participate and Perform squad checks of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines.
• Develop bills of quantities from Revit
• Manage progress & quality control activities.
• Project handover and closeout documentation.

Qualifications

Here is what we are looking for:

• 5-10 Years relevant experience as a BIM Modeller in the built environment
• A proficient user in Autodesk Revit and/or similar, who can draw/model with limited supervision having the ability to create content within a specific discipline.
• Must also be an intermediate user in other core discipline specific software.
