The BIM Manager operates at the intersection of design, technology, and information management. Working under the direction of the BIM Lead, the role involves managing architectural teams through BIM projects, ensuring compliance with ISO 19650 principles, the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP), and dhk BIM Best Practices. The position is both strategic and hands‑on, requiring exceptional technical proficiency, efficiency, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities
  • ISO 19650 Information Management & Task Team Leadership
Fulfil the responsibilities of a Task Team Manager as defined under ISO 19650, ensuring task team information is produced, managed, and delivered in accordance with the Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and BIM Execution Plan.
Support the Information Management function by managing information containers, workflows, approvals, and status codes within the Common Data Environment.
Develop, implement, and maintain project BIM Execution Plans in alignment with ISO 19650 and dhk BIM standards.
Ensure consistent application of naming conventions, model structuring, classification systems, and information delivery milestones.
Audit project models and CDE’s for compliance, quality, and model health, producing formal audit reports for the BIM Lead as required.
  • Project & Team Management
Manage architectural project teams through BIM-enabled project delivery, providing leadership, guidance, and technical oversight.
Coordinate BIM workflows across project stages, consultants, and disciplines.
Manage BIM-related resourcing, risk, and programme impacts in collaboration with project leadership.
Act as the primary BIM interface with clients, consultants, and contractors on BIM scope, deliverables, and expectations.
Support project setup, federation strategies, coordination reviews, and information handover processes.
Maintain responsibility for the integrity, performance, and reliability of project models and associated CDE’s.
  • Technical BIM Leadership
Demonstrate advanced, high-efficiency proficiency in Autodesk Revit, including model structuring, work‑sharing, content creation, and performance optimisation.
Use Navisworks for model federation, clash detection, coordination workflows, and issue tracking.
Manage and administer Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), including Design Collaboration, Docs, and model coordination workflows.
Develop and maintain Revit families, templates, and project-specific BIM content.
Assist in automating BIM processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and data quality.
Resolve complex BIM and coordination issues in collaboration with the BIM Lead.
  • Standards, Systems & Software
Develop, maintain, and enforce dhk BIM standards, procedures, and workflows in collaboration with the BIM Lead.
Deploy, manage, and support BIM software platforms across the practice.
Coordinate software versioning, updates, and customisation with the BIM Lead and IT Support.
Manage relationships with Autodesk and other BIM software vendors or developer support teams as required.
Ensure the stability, structure, and correct use of CDE’s across all assigned projects.
  • Training & Capability Development
Deliver BIM, Revit, Navisworks, and ACC training to project teams as required.
Provide BIM induction and technical orientation for new staff.
Mentor architectural staff in BIM best practices, information management, and ISO 19650 workflows.
Maintain a high level of professional competency through ongoing training, research, and engagement with industry developments.
Attend BIM-related conferences, seminars, and workshops, sharing knowledge within the practice.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in architectural practice, with at least 5 years in a BIM Management or senior BIM Coordination role.
  • Demonstrated experience performing Task Team Manager and Information Management functions in line with ISO 19650.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit, with proven efficiency on complex, multi-user projects.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Navisworks for coordination and clash detection.
