Job summary

Boardroom Appointments seeks an experienced BIM Coordinator to lead the federated BIM models, enforce standards, and support design to construction teams in a Sandton project environment. You will drive ISO 19650 compliance, BEP development, CDE workflows, and model validation across disciplines.

The role requires 5+ years in BIM coordination on construction projects, strong communication, and proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, Solibri, and BIM 360/ACC.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in AEC or related field with BIM focus.
• Minimum 5+ years BIM coordination experience on construction projects.
• Strong ability to enforce BIM standards and processes.
• Experience coordinating with design and construction teams.
• Familiarity with ISO 19650, BEP, and CDE workflows.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project compliance with ISO 19650, BEP, and EIR.
• Coordinate federated BIM models, verify accuracy and clash detection.
• Manage CDE workflows and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Perform model audits and issue resolution with Navisworks/Solibri/BIM 360.
• Support project teams with BIM workflows and troubleshooting.
• Develop and enforce BIM protocols, templates, and standards.
• Collaborate with design and construction to optimize data exchange.
• BIM Project Management: extract 4D sequencing and construction data.

Job description

• Draughting / Modelling / BIM Qualification from a recognised institution (Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related field).
• 5+ years of experience in BIM coordination in Construction projects.
• Proficiency in BIM software, including Revit, Navisworks, Solibri, and BIM 360 (or ACC).
• Strong knowledge of ISO 19650 principles, BEP development, and CDE management.
• Experience with clash detection, model validation, and interoperability standards.
• Understanding of data exchange formats (IFC, COBie) and model coordination.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills to facilitate collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and ensure BIM standards compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure project compliance with ISO 19650 standards, BIM Execution Plan (BEP), and Employer's Information Requirements (EIR).
• Coordinate and manage federated BIM models, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clash detection.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration by managing Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows.
• Conduct model audits, clash detection, and issue resolution using tools like Navisworks, Solibri, or BIM 360.
• Support project teams with BIM-related workflows, troubleshooting, and best practices.
• Develop and enforce project-specific BIM protocols, templates, and standards.
• Collaborate with design and construction teams to optimize model performance and data exchange.
• BIM Project Management: Support scheduling, logistics, and site teams by extracting 4D sequencing and construction data from BIM models.
• Provide training and guidance on BIM tools and workflows to project stakeholders.
• Maintain and update BIM documentation, ensuring data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
