About the Role

Our client, a multicultural family residing in Soweto, Gauteng , is seeking a warm, engaging, and Bilingual Nanny to provide dedicated care for their newborn and toddler (ages 6 months and 2 years). The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and another South African language (e.g., Zulu, Sotho, Xhosa), fostering a rich linguistic and cultural environment for the children. This role requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of infant and toddler care, a passion for early learning, and a commitment to creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing atmosphere. The Nanny will be responsible for daily care routines, age-appropriate activities, and supporting the children's development in all areas. Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and compassionate care for a newborn and a toddler.
• Manage daily routines including feeding, bathing, diapering, naps, and playtime.
• Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that stimulate cognitive, social, and physical development.
• Foster a bilingual environment by actively using both English and the secondary specified language.
• Prepare healthy and balanced meals and snacks for the children.
• Ensure the safety and security of the children at all times, both inside and outside the home.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment for the children's toys and living spaces.
• Communicate effectively with parents about the children's progress, milestones, and daily activities.
• Encourage good habits and positive social interaction.
• Accompany children on outings to parks, playgrounds, and other child-friendly locations.

Requirements

• Previous professional experience caring for newborns and toddlers is essential.
• Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one other South African language is a strict requirement.
• Knowledge of infant and toddler development milestones and best practices in childcare.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be patient, nurturing, reliable, and responsible.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to create a stimulating and educational environment.
• Background check and strong references required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.
• Familiarity with the local community in Soweto, Gauteng is a plus.
