Job summary

Wacky's in Durban seeks an BI Analyst & Developer to build a dedicated BI capability, design dashboards and automate reporting across Sales, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Maintenance and Labour.

The role requires SQL and Power BI skills, experience with POS data and data warehousing concepts, and the ability to engage stakeholders across multiple functions from a Durban Head Office base.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics or a related field.
• Power BI (dashboard design and development).
• SQL and database management tools.
• Advanced Excel (data modelling, advanced functions).
• Experience working with POS / transactional data systems.
• Experience within a multi-site retail, QSR or restaurant environment.
• Exposure to data warehousing / ETL tools and processes.
• Advanced statistical or data modelling techniques.
• Own vehicle and valid drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Establish a dedicated BI capability with dashboards and automated reporting.
• Based at Durban Head Office; travel as required.
• Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards for oper. and commercial reporting.
• Extract, integrate and combine data from multiple databases using SQL.
• Automate manual reporting processes to improve accuracy and speed.
• Develop data models and KPI frameworks for Sales, GP, EBITDA and store performance.
• Analyse POS and transactional data to identify insights and opportunities.
• Create and maintain a single source of truth for reporting.
• Partner with department heads to translate reporting needs into dashboards.
• Be commercially minded with a strong analytical mindset.
• Self-starter able to build a new capability from the ground up.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. The BI Analyst & Developer is responsible for establishing a dedicated Business Intelligence capability within Wacky's, enabling accurate, timely and automated reporting across the business. The role develops dashboards, integrates data sources and provides actionable insights across Sales, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Maintenance and Labour, improving decision‑making and reducing reliance on manual reporting as the business grows
2. Role is based at the Durban Head Office, with travel as required
3. Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards for operational and commercial reporting
