Job summary

Tiger Brands in South Africa is seeking a production operator to operate line equipment safely and efficiently, relieve peers, and participate in changeovers.

You will monitor machine performance, ensure product quality and hygiene, complete production records, and support packaging, stock handling, and continuous improvement. This role requires Grade 12 and a willingness to work shifts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric required.
• Experience in manufacturing or beverage production.
• Ability to operate multiple production line machines.
• Basic mechanical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate production line equipment safely and efficiently.
• Relieve operators at different workstations as assigned.
• Perform start-up, shutdown, and changeover activities when required.
• Monitor machine performance and product quality during operation.
• Conduct routine checks and inspections on equipment.
• Report equipment faults, quality deviations, and safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S and GMP requirements.
• Complete production records and documentation accurately.
• Follow production schedules and work instructions.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving minor operational issues.
• Support stock handling, material replenishment, and packaging activities when required.
• Adhere to all food safety, quality, environmental, and safety standards.
• Participate in shift handovers and team meetings.
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to improve line performance.
