Placements24 is seeking an Executive Chef for a prestigious catering company in Midrand, Gauteng. You will lead the culinary team, shape innovative menus and drive excellence across high-profile events.

The role demands 5+ years in senior kitchen roles, formal culinary qualification, and a proven ability to manage food costs, hygiene, and staff performance while delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef in catering or fine-dining environments.
• Formal culinary qualification from a recognized institution.
• Proven expertise across international cuisines and dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher).
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; adept at staff scheduling, training and performance evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and execute diverse menus for events, adhering to client briefs and dietary requirements.
• Oversee kitchen operations: food prep, cooking, plating and presentation to high standards.
• Lead and mentor sous chefs, cooks and staff to foster a high-performance team.
• Manage inventory, procurement, receiving, storage and cost control of all F&B supplies.
• Ensure strict HACCP compliance and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
