Job summary

Placements24 seeks a diligent Process Controller for our client’s mineral processing facility in Benoni, Gauteng. The role focuses on monitoring and adjusting plant operations to achieve peak efficiency, product quality and safety compliance.

You will operate DCS/SCADA systems, interpret process data and collaborate with engineers and maintenance teams to minimize downtime. A NQF Diploma and 3+ years’ experience in a similar environment are preferred, with shift work and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Process Controller or Operator in a mineral processing or chemical plant environment.
• Proficiency with DCS and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of mineral processing principles and plant operations.
• Ability to work in a shift-based environment.
• Commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant operations using DCS and other process control equipment in Benoni.
• Interpret process variables (flow rates, pressures, densities, reagent dosages) and adjust to maintain optimal conditions.
• Respond to alarms and upsets, diagnose issues and implement actions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with metallurgists, operators and maintenance teams to troubleshoot problems.
• Maintain logs of plant operations, performance data and deviations from procedures.
• Conduct routine checks of process equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies.
• Participate in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
