• Proven experience as a Waiter.
• Strong Barista experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages and other drinks while maintaining accuracy in orders.
• Serve food and beverages per established service standards with professionalism.
• Know menu items well to confidently explain options to residents.
• Provide excellent customer relations and handle resident needs and complaints professionally.
• Set tables per standards and ensure cleanliness and proper linen handling.
• Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in designated areas and support stock audits.
• Ensure accurate billing and report discrepancies to management.
• Assist with stock management and maintain inventory levels.

Faircape Restaurant and Catering, part of Faircape Life retirement villages, oprerates in 6 prime locations across the Western Cape, providing dining services to village residents and patients in the onsite healthcare centres.

We are seeking a professional, well-presented and customer-focused Barista / Waiter to join our team. The successful candidate will be passionate about hospitality, committed to delivering exceptional customer service and experienced in preparing and serving high-quality coffee beverages while maintaining excellent restaurant service standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong barista skills a positive attitude and the ability to create a welcoming dining experience for residents and guests.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, maintain coffee equipment and provide residents with beverage recommendations.
• Serve food and beverages in accordance with established service standards while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
• Possess thorough knowledge of all menu items to confidently recommend or explain options to residents.
• Practice excellent customer relations, accommodate resident needs, handle complaints professionally and support the team in delivering a seamless dining and beverage experience.
• Set tables according to established standards, ensuring all items used are clean, undamaged, and in good repair.
• Change table linen as required and ensure dirty or damaged linen is counted and exchanged for clean, usable items.
• Clean and refill cruet and condiment sets.
• Maintain designated areas to meet required hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Ensure accurate billing of orders and report any discrepancies or errors to management.
• Assist with daily, weekly and monthly stock audits, maintain adequate stock levels, replenish bar inventory and supplies, and report any variances, shortages, breakages, or low-stock items to management.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, grooming and professional appearance.
• Adhere to all health, safety, food hygiene, and company policies and procedures.
• Be willing to assist outside of normal working hours with private functions and special events as required.

Experience and Knowledge

• Proven experience as a Waiter.
• Strong Barista experience is essential.
• Knowledge of serving etiquette and basic wine knowledge.

Faircape offers a competitive salary. The salary will be dependent on experience, qualifications, skills and attributes.

Your total package includes a set basic salary, as well as provision for Sunday pay (at time and a half), public holiday pay (at double time), and quarterly performance bonuses paid every three months after successful probation.

Working Hours

Normal working days are Wednesday to Sunday from 09h00 to 18h30, according to the roster.
