Job summary

Delaire Graff Estate is looking for a Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, to provide an excellent guest drinking experience.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, presenting menus, taking orders with attention to preferences, and preparing drinks per recipes. Maintain a clean bar, monitor stock, assist with weekly orders, ensure equipment works, and uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education is required.
• Preferably 2-3 years’ Barista experience.
• Hands-on experience with brewing equipment.
• Basic maths and communication skills.
• Ability to gauge customer preferences.
• Strong customer service orientation and active listening.
• Comfortable dealing with very distinguished clientele.
• Must be well-presented.
• Flexibility to work various shifts.
• Accountability.

Main responsibilities:

Responsibilities include greeting and welcoming guests, providing beverage menus and answering questions regarding ingredients, taking orders accurately while paying attention to guest preferences such as coffee blends, dairy and sugar ratios, and preparing beverages according to established recipes and standards. The role is responsible for keeping the bar area clean and organised, maintaining adequate stock of clean crockery, conducting regular stock counts and placing weekly orders to ensure sufficient beverage and bar supplies are available. Responsibilities also include checking that brewing equipment is operating correctly and reporting any maintenance requirements, complying with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance, and ensuring that the uniform is clean, neat and in good condition.

Main requirements:

• Grade 12;
• Preferably 2-3 years' previous Barista experience;
