Ideal candidates have 2–3 years’ Barista experience, hands-on brewing equipment skills, and a strong customer-service focus. The role requires neat presentation, flexibility across shifts, and compliance with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required.
• 2–3 years' Barista experience preferred.
• Passionate about hospitality and service.

Job description

Luxury Wine Estate based close to Stellenbosch is looking for a Barista.

Duties:

• Greeting and welcoming guests
• Providing beverage menus and answering questions regarding ingredients
• Taking orders accurately while paying attention to guest preferences such as coffee blends, dairy and sugar ratios, and preparing beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Responsible for keeping the bar area clean and organised
• Maintaining adequate stock of clean crockery, conducting regular stock counts and placing weekly orders to ensure sufficient beverage and bar supplies are available.
• Checking that brewing equipment is operating correctly and reporting any maintenance requirements
• Complying with all health and safety regulations
• Maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
• Ensuring that the uniform is clean, neat and in good condition.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Preferably 2–3 years’ previous Barista experience
• Passionate about the hospitality industry
• Hands‑on experience with brewing equipment
• Basic maths and communication skills
• Ability to gauge customer preferences
• Strong customer service orientation and active listening skills
