Job summary

The Capital is seeking a Banqueting Manager to lead the hotel's conferencing and banqueting operations, driving revenue through proactive business development and client relationships.

You will oversee the full banqueting pipeline, from enquiry to execution, coordinate with coordinators and operations teams, and ensure accurate costing, forecasting and compliance with health, safety and liquor regulations.

Qualifications

• Matric is required.
• Experience in banqueting, conferencing or events management.
• Strong sales abilities and client relationship skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Description:

The Banqueting Manager leads the commercial and operational success of the hotel's conferencing and banqueting department, driving revenue growth through proactive business development, client relationship management and event sales. This includes managing the full banqueting pipeline from enquiry to execution, overseeing quotations and negotiations, leading the Banqueting Coordinators and Operations teams, and ensuring accurate costing, forecasting and compliance with health, safety and liquor regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric
• Previous banqueting, conferencing or events management experience required, ideally in a sales or business development capacity
• Strong Sales Skills
• Good contact base
• Hands on Problem Solving approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Experience in Hotel management software and Point of sale software
• Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
• Effective communication with members of staff as well as Guests of the Hotel
• Honest and trustworthy beyond approach
• Great attention to detail
• Presentable and well spoken
• Team Player who leads by example
• Proactive in approach
