Job summary

Capitec Bank Ltd. is seeking an experienced data professional to shape the data strategy for the Credit Access Data team. You will help define data structures, source data, and deliver reliable, scalable data foundations for decisions across the bank.

You will lead data quality, governance, and a Community of Practice, working with senior stakeholders to translate complex questions into actionable data solutions. Strong SQL and data warehousing experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
• 5–10 years in business and data analysis.
• At least 5 years leading data capability initiatives in large-scale environments.
• Designs and leads test plans; validates data transformation logic.
• Collaborates with data developers to define KPI's, metrics and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Define how data is structured, sourced and stored so one trusted data set powers multiple teams and tools across the business.
• Work with business stakeholders to translate needs into data requirements and documented solutions.
• Write user stories with acceptance criteria and coordinate delivery across development and QA teams.
• Lead test plans, validate transformation logic and drive defect resolution.
• Define and maintain data quality rules and governance processes; ensure issues are resolved.
• Build relationships across multiple business areas and adapt communication to different stakeholders.
