Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking an Azure Cloud Architect for a 6-month contract to design, implement and manage scalable Azure infrastructure. You will monitor resources, ensure high availability, and enforce security/compliance across POPIA, GDPR and HIPAA scopes.

The role requires leadership in IAM, cost control and disaster recovery planning. The ideal candidate has proven Azure experience, IaC skills (Terraform/ARM), and familiarity with DevOps (Azure DevOps, CI/CD).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/engineering or related field required.
Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator/Architect) desirable.
Proven experience leading cloud infrastructure projects on Azure.

Responsibilities

Design, implement and manage scalable and secure Azure infrastructure.
Monitor and maintain Azure resources, including VMs, storage, networking and DBs.
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery; regularly test plans.
Enforce security best practices and compliance (POPIA, GDPR, HIPAA).
Lead IAM management and control user permissions/roles.
Conduct regular security assessments and risk audits.
Optimize cloud performance and monitor costs; implement cost-saving measures.
Plan and oversee cloud projects from concept to delivery; coordinate vendors.
