Placements24 is seeking an Aircraft Systems Software Developer to join its team in Sandton. You will design, develop, and implement embedded software for critical avionics and aircraft control systems, collaborating with systems engineers and hardware designers.

The role requires 5+ years of embedded software experience, proficiency in C, C++, or Ada, and knowledge of RTOS and safety-critical standards such as DO-178C.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS or Software Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years embedded software experience, aerospace/defense preferred.
• Proficient in C/C++/Ada.
• Experience with RTOS and safety-critical development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain embedded software for avionics and control systems.
• Write clean, well-documented code in C, C++, or Ada.
• Implement software according to safety standards (DO-178C).
• Perform software integration, testing across platforms.
• Troubleshoot and debug, identify root causes and solutions.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers to define software requirements and architecture.
• Participate in code reviews and adhere to processes.
