Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Aircraft Quality Inspector for our client’s MRO facility in Soweto, Gauteng. The role ensures airworthiness and regulatory compliance by inspecting aircraft, components, and maintenance records.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in aviation QA, strong knowledge of SACAA and ISO 9001, and excellent attention to detail. Relocation to Soweto or existing residence nearby is preferred; shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance or quality assurance within the aviation industry.
• Proven experience as an Aircraft Quality Inspector or similar role.
• Thorough understanding of SACAA regulations and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical manuals, drawings, and maintenance procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must hold relevant aviation maintenance certifications or licenses.
• Must be a South African citizen or hold permanent residency and be based in or willing to relocate to Soweto, Gauteng.
• Ability to work shifts if required.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections on all aircraft maintenance activities.
• Verify compliance with approved technical data, maintenance manuals, and regulations.
• Inspect aircraft structures, systems, components, and installations for conformity and quality.
• Review and approve maintenance records, work orders, and related documentation.
• Identify non-conformities and initiate corrective action procedures.
• Conduct audits of workshops and tooling to ensure quality standards.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and customers on quality-related matters.
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.
• Provide guidance and support to maintenance personnel on quality requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aviation regulations and industry best practices.
