Job summary

South African Airways (Pty) Ltd. seeks an Aviation Technician to perform maintenance, servicing, repairs and testing on aircraft engines, airframes and components in compliance with task cards and regulatory requirements.

You will inspect, troubleshoot and modify systems while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. You will plan parts, operate test equipment, complete repair documentation and contribute to continuous improvement in a high-stakes maintenance environment at Kempton Park.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent as the basic entry requirement.
• Completed Aviation Apprenticeship and Trade Test in the applicable trade.
• 2 years’ projects or workshop maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license Code B.
• Holding certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, inspections, repairs, overhauls, maintenance, testing and modifications on aircraft components in line with procedures.
• Operate test equipment and ensure proper tooling is used for overhaul of components.
• Inspect parts per regulatory requirements and take corrective actions as needed.
• Plan and process parts and maintain required documentation.
• Complete and stamp task documentation per policy and regulations.
• Provide technical assistance in other areas and participate in meetings/trainings.
• Prepare work areas per manufacturers' requirements and policies to ensure safety.
