Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa seeks an experienced Aviation Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to SACAA, ICAO, and international standards within operations based in Klerksdorp.

You will develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive compliance programs, conduct audits, train staff, and liaise with regulators to protect the company’s license to operate and uphold a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Aviation Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation compliance, regulatory affairs, or safety management.
• In-depth knowledge of South African aviation regulations and international aviation standards.
• Proven experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and developing compliance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal teams and external authorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive compliance programs ensuring adherence to all applicable aviation regulations (e.g., SACAA, ICAO).
• Conduct regular internal audits of operations, maintenance, and safety procedures to identify areas of non-compliance or potential risk.
• Investigate compliance incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions to management.
• Stay current with changes in aviation legislation and regulatory requirements, disseminating relevant information to stakeholders.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, facilitate external audits, and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance matters and promote a culture of regulatory awareness.
