Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Automotive Test & Validation Engineer for our client in Pretoria, Gauteng. You will design, execute, and analyze tests for automotive components and full vehicle systems to ensure quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of automotive testing/validation experience.
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and failure modes.
• Experience with test automation tools and data acquisition systems.
• Proficiency in interpreting specifications, drawings and test results.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid model in Pretoria, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans for automotive components and systems (mechanical, electrical, software).
• Execute durability, performance, environmental and functional tests.
• Operate and maintain testing equipment and instrumentation.
• Analyze test data, generate detailed reports, and provide feedback to engineering teams.
• Identify, document, and track defects to resolution.
• Collaborate with design engineers to understand requirements and testing objectives.
• Ensure testing activities comply with industry standards and internal guidelines.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes at the Pretoria facility.
