Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Automotive Quality Control Inspector in George, Western Cape to ensure parts and vehicles meet quality standards. You will conduct inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges, document non-conformities, and drive corrective actions with engineering and production teams.

The role emphasizes precision, adherence to ISO 9001/IATF 16949 standards, and proactive quality improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; automotive tech certification is advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in quality control or inspection within automotive manufacturing.
• Proficient with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of automotive parts and finished vehicles.
• Utilize measuring instruments and testing equipment to verify specifications and tolerances.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformities or defects.
• Collaborate with production and engineering to investigate root causes and corrective actions.
• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with specs.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and quality reports.
• Calibrate and maintain inspection tools to ensure accuracy.
• Assist in training new QC personnel on inspection techniques.
