Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer in Rustenburg to design and validate advanced electrical systems for next‑generation vehicles. You will craft schematics, harnesses, and system diagrams while coordinating with mechanical, software, and systems teams to meet safety and performance targets.

The role requires a strong background in automotive electrical engineering, hands-on testing, and proficiency with CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Automotive Engineering.
• 5+ years in automotive electrical system design.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of CAN/LIN and other automotive buses.
• Experience with power electronics and embedded controllers.
• ISO 26262 knowledge is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Team-oriented in a fast-paced R&D environment.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automotive electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, sensors, and control modules.
• Create detailed schematics, wiring harnesses, and system architecture diagrams.
• Perform system integration, testing, and validation for performance, reliability, and safety.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical/electronic issues during vehicle development and production.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software developers, and system architects.
• Develop technical specifications and feasibility studies for new components and systems.
• Stay current with emerging automotive electronics technologies and best practices.
• Document design processes, test results, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards and regulations.
